September Update
Recently, the Evangelical Protestant Church Cemetery was mowed and weed whacked, again, by three volunteers over a period of a few days. The grounds look great, again. Most of the work was done by one individual, Mike, with his push mower. The grass will continue to grow until early November. The cemetery will need to be mowed at least once more this year. Until a permanent solution is found for the upkeep of the cemetery, if you notice that the grass is in need of attention, empower yourself, volunteer, and help with the upkeep. When the grass is at a reasonable length, it is much easier to maintain. Please do not forget that the grass was over three feet tall in July when Travis took on the task of mowing the lawn. Permission is not needed to do the right thing. Be careful, have fun, and feel good afterward because you just did a great thing! Let's all try to keep the cemetery in great shape. Thank you

Hi Chris, I was out on Findagrave this morning researching some of the family members from the middle 1800's that are interred at "Krumkill". It was striking to look at some of the memorials and the linked photographs - the stone in the center of a photo might look great but around it were obelisks leaning at a 45 degee angle, tablet shaped stones lying almost parallel to the ground, a few stones upright and not obscured by brush and trees and vines. It says that 2,442 memorials have been added, and 71% of them are photographed. I wonder how many more memorials might be able to be added now, and photographed, since so many hundreds of stones have been corrected, cleaned, made legible through the tireless work of you and Mike. Some day the local stations will figure out what the real story is there at the Evangelical Protestant Cemetery. Yes, some people mowed 4 acres of 3' high grass one summer, and that is not to be discounted. But if they knew what you have been doing for the past 5 years, and the maladies you've worked through......Keep going,my friend!
